Emily St. John
As a licensed clinical mental health counselor candidate, I specialize in providing compassionate and effective counseling services to young adults and athletes. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges and pressures faced by these populations, I work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that support their mental health and overall well-being.
Drawing on evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and solution-focused therapy, I help clients develop skills and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Whether working one-on-one or in group settings, my goal is to provide a supportive and empowering space where clients can feel heard, understood, challenged, and validated.
As a former athlete myself, I have a particular interest in working with young athletes who may be struggling with performance anxiety, injuries, or the challenges of transitioning out of competitive sports. I understand the unique demands and rewards of athletics, and am committed to helping athletes cultivate resilience, self-compassion, and a healthy mindset both on and off the field.
